Getting Started
1. Create Your Accounts
Start by adding an account to track — this could be a wallet, bank account, credit card, or even a savings jar.
Tap Add Account on the main Accounts screen.
Enter the Bank and Account Name, Opening Balance, and select an Account Type.
Done! You’ll now see your total balance and breakdown across accounts.
To track money movement between accounts, select Transfer as the transaction type and pick the source and destination accounts.
Tracking spending or income is fast and simple.
Tap ➕ Add Transaction.
Choose the Account, enter the Amount, pick a Category, and optionally add a Note.
Tap Save, and your transaction is recorded.
Customize your spending categories to reflect your real-world finances.
Currencies - Go to Settings > Currencies to edit or add currencies you’ll be using in Nummo. Exchange rates are automatically updated daily from the Frankfurter API, ensuring your conversions stay accurate and up to date.
Categories - Go to Settings > Categories to add or edit custom categories tailored to your spending and income needs. Categories help organize your transactions, making it easier to track expenses, set budgets, and analyze your financial habits over time.
Budgets - Optionally, go to Settings > Budgets to set monthly spending limits for your Expense categories. Budgets help you stay on track by letting you monitor how much you’ve spent in each category and how close you are to your set limits. You’ll see budget progress in the dashboard and category views — great for keeping spending in check.
The Today View gives you a quick, visual overview of your current financial status — perfect for daily check-ins.
Accounts Summary - Quickly see your financial position across all accounts showing your total balances, grouped by account type (e.g. Cash, Bank, E-Wallet). Each account shows its current balance in the local currency, making it easy to track liquidity and stay on top of your finances at a glance.
Merchant - Shows your most recent transaction alongside your average monthly spend with that merchant. You can also explore your spending history by merchant, broken down by month — helping you track trends, spot unusual activity, or reflect on recurring patterns.
Category - Shows your top spending categories at a glance. Tap any category to see month-to-date spend, average monthly spend, and a breakdown of past months — helping you understand where your money goes and how it changes over time.
Income vs Expense - Provides a clear visual comparison of income and expenses for the current month. Use this view to track your savings progress or ensure your spending stays within your means.
Budget - Displays your active budgets by category, with progress bars indicating how much you’ve spent against your budgeted limits. Easily spot which categories are close to overspending and make adjustments as needed.
Keep your records accurate by reconciling with monthly statements from the financial institutions.
This process helps ensure your recorded balances match your actual financial institution records — making it easier to spot errors, duplicates, or missing entries.
Opening Balance: Set the balance as stated at the beginning of your bank statement.
Statement Amount: Enter the closing amount from your bank statement.
Unreconciled Transactions: Select or review transactions that occurred during the statement period but haven’t been marked as reconciled yet.
Running Total: Nummo automatically calculates the difference between your opening balance, statement amount, and selected transactions — helping you verify whether your accounts match.
Tailor Nummo to your needs in Settings > App Preferences.
Appearance: Choose between Light, Dark, or System mode to match your device theme.
Privacy Mode: Enable this to hide all sensitive amounts in the app - perfect for using Nummo in public or during screen sharing. To disable the privacy mode, Face ID authentication is required for your security.
